This is my 2D Shooter Project.
Proposed Modification:
1. Create an interesting and comprehensive level
2. Reskin the player character (with animations)
3. Reskin the entire environment (background, barriers, menus)

Your proposed modifications sound good if for the 2nd you are making the new player character yourself and you properly state that and cite any work from elsewhere in your final submission.
