This is my 2D Platformer
Proposed Modifications:
1. Create a complete interesting, comprehensive, and coherent level
2. Add multiple additional levels and tie them in to create a logical progression in your game
3. Re-skin the player (including animations)

Your proposed modifications sound good as long as your new levels are all unique and that you create the new skin for the player and make that clear in your final submission.
